Governor-elect Jeff Landry has made heads turn as he elected a transition committee dedicated entirely to the city of New Orleans. It is an unusual choice given that most transition committees are formed with a focus on a specific issue instead of a place. It is also unusual given that, in his eight years as attorney general, Landry was known to antagonize New Orleans officials and held a noticeable hostility towards the city as a whole.

Landry carefully selected 27 members to make up this committee, none of which include any current members of the Cantrell administration, the New Orleans City Council, or the Orleans Parish law enforcement agencies. The list of committee members made up heavily of business and tourism executives, civic association leaders and others both directly and indirectly involved in crime fighting.

According to reports, the committee is set to meet three times before the end of the year. See below for a list and brief description of each member.
